International Environmental Law Scientific Club

On October 17, 2024, representatives of the Center for Sustainable Development and Environmental Law held a meeting of the scientific group on environmental law, led by Dr. Olena Lozo, PhD in Law, Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Law. Students, post-graduate students, and professors of the Department of Environmental Law at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University joined the scientific group.

The students proposed the following research topics:

1. «The right of access to environmental information: the experience of EU countries» was presented by Oksana Yavorska.
2. «Stimulating the development of electric charging infrastructure and electric vehicles in the European Union and North America» was presented by Olha Teslenko.
3. «Cryptocurrencies and mining: environmental impact, the need for international regulation» was presented by Anatoly Ishchukov.
4. «Modern legal issues of marine biodiversity conservation in the South China Sea» was presented by Sofia Brychka.
5. «The impact of genetic engineering on the environment and human health» was presented by Diana Prylipko.
6. «The problem of deforestation and what does chocolate have to do with it» was presented by Yevhen Mukhin.
7. «International legal cooperation in the field of environmental protection as a tool for regulating the demographic situation in the world» was presented by Valerii Barzhak.
8.  «WWF activities as one of the leading environmental organizations» was presented by Anastasia Krykun.
9. «Ecological Constitution of the Earth: prospects of creation and problems of realization» was presented by Denys Shostak.
10. «International legal regulation of solving the problem of ocean acidification» was presented by Yana Kolesnyk.
11. «The rights of future generations and international environmental law: obligations to preserve resources for future generations» was presented by Olena Skorokhod.
12. «Environmental aspects of international trade: balancing economic interests and environmental safety» was presented by Oleksandra Zolotukhina.

All the speeches were accompanied by presentations that revealed and detailed the current issues and ways to solve them. The team of the Center for Sustainable Development and Environmental Law would like to thank our speakers for their emotionally charged speeches, vivid presentations, relevant topics, demonstration of true oratory and generation of interesting and progressive scientific ideas.
