Environmental Law Scientific Club

On October 24, 2024, representatives of the Center for Sustainable Development and Environmental Law held a meeting of the scientific group on environmental law, led by PhD in Law Oleksii Onishchenko, Assistant at the Department of Environmental Law. Students, post-graduate students, and professors of the Department of Environmental Law at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University joined the scientific group.

The students proposed the following research topics:

1. «Legal Protection of Forests During Martial Law: Current Problems and Challenges» was presented by Anastasia Krykun and Zlata Rosomaha.
2. «Ecocide as a war crime» was presented by Kryvoklub Daria.
3. «Illegal deforestation in Ukraine: legal mechanisms of counteraction and their improvement» was presented by Gordienko Yulia.
4. «Legal regulation of animal protection in dolphinariums: possible alternatives and ways to solve problems» was presented by Dvornikova Polina.
5. «Climate change in Ukraine: economic consequences and legal regulation» was presented by Komyshan Andriy.
6. «Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine: current state, challenges and integration into EU environmental standards» was presented by Sokyrka Daryna.
7. «Aarhus Convention: its role in international environmental protection» was presented by Alyoshin Roman.
8. «Modernization of the waste management system in Ukraine: comparative legal analysis of the new Law of Ukraine «On Waste Management» and the legislation of the European Union» was presented by Kozmina Yulia.
9. «Aspects of environmental security of Ukraine in the conditions of military conflict» was presented by Neshtun Yegor.

All the speeches were accompanied by presentations that revealed and detailed the current issues and ways to solve them.

The team of the Center for Sustainable Development and Environmental Law would like to thank our speakers for their emotionally charged speeches, vivid presentations, relevant topics, demonstration of true oratory and generation of interesting and progressive scientific ideas.
